Why do I see "Empty tag" when I tap my Tap Out?

If you tap your Tap Out without seeing "Ready to Scan" on your Tap Out app screen, you'll see Android’s default NFC tag reader activity. In order to scan the Tap Out, you need to click on the big Tap Out button on the app's homescreen. When you see "Ready to scan", you can scan the Tap Out.
